Relay Control with Parallel Compensator for Nonminimum Phase Plants

چکیده

Following the Smith compensator the parallel compensator designed for difficult, e.g. nonminimum phase plants is applied to systems with relay control. The compensator connected in parallel to the plant changes its properties so that the replacement plant model becomes simpler and may be shaped dependently upon the goal of the control. In the case of regulation on a constant level a first order lag may be chosen for the replacement plant model. In the case of tracking or disturbance rejection of signals with frequencies belonging to some working frequency band, the replacement plant model should have its frequency response close to that of the plant, in the working frequency band. The proposed approach simplifies the design and improves accuracy of the control. Copyright c ©2005 IFAC

Parallel compensator versus Smith predictor for control of the plants with delay

In the paper the parallel compensator considered in [1] is applied to control of the plants with delay and compared with Smith predictor. It is noted that Smith predictor removes only the delay, while the parallel compensator also changes the dynamics of the replacement plant; the latter may be in some degree of freedom shaped by the designer. Owing to this the transients of the system with par...

About Equivalence between Sliding Mode and Continuous Control Systems

It is shown, how to create the continuous system equivalent to the system with sliding mode control. In the case of minimum phase plants, the system arises from the replacement of the relay with small hysteresis by the amplifier with high gain, connected in series with saturation having appropriate parameters. In the case of nonminimum phase (or other difficult plants) it is noted that similar ...

Necessary and sufficient conditions for a nonminimum phase plant to have a recoverable target loop - A stable compensator design for LTR

-In connection with loop transfer recovery of nonminimum phase systems, the purpose of this paper is two-fold: (1) to study the set of recoverable target loops and to establish necessary or/and sufficient conditions for a given plant to have at least one recoverable target loop, and (2) to show that the compensator structure developed earlier in Chen, Saberi and Sannuti [(1991) Automatica, 27, ...

Retrospective Cost Adaptive Control with Error-Dependent Regularization for MIMO Systems with Uncertain Nonminimum-Phase Transmission Zeros

In this paper we focus on retrospective cost adaptive control (RCAC), which is applicable to stabilization, command following, disturbance rejection, and model reference control problems for SISO and MIMO plants. RCAC uses limited modeling information, specifically, Markov parameters of the transfer function from the control input to the performance variable. Typically, a small number of Markov...

Discrete-time Loop Transfer Recovery via Generalized Sampled-data Hold Functions Based Compensator

Loop transfer recovery (LTR) techniques are known to enhance the input or output robustness properties of linear quadratic gaussian (LQG) designs. One restriction of the existing discrete-time LQG/LTR methods is that they can obtain arbitrarily good recovery only for minimum-phase plants. A number of researchers have attempted to devise new techniques to cope with non-minimum-phase plants and h...
